Currently in B.C. there are 1000’s of kids who need temporary or long-term foster families when they can’t live at home. Many of these children and teens have experienced trauma and difficult times.
Please come join us as members of the Ministry of Family and Child Development (MCFD) share about the need for more foster homes in our community. You'll also hear from current foster parents about their experiences fostering. Information sessions are designed to help prospective foster caregivers make the decision about fostering.
Topics include:
How to become a foster caregiver
What's involved in being a foster caregiver
An overview of B.C.'s foster care system
We may feel hopeless in eradicating some of the circumstances that lend to children becoming vulnerable in the first place, but that must not stop us from caring for them.
