Go out into the highways and hedges and make them come in, so that my house may be filled. - Jesus (Luke 14:23)
The Practice: One Missional Engagement With A Neighbour Each Month
Our ninth practice is practicing hospitality through missional engagement to extend the love of Jesus to our neighbours who don’t know Him. We want to practice becoming people who have margin in our lives for hospitality, who give and receive invitations to hospitality, and who extend hospitality to the marginalized and vulnerable.
When practicing this week, please abide by all pandemic restrictions that our health authorities have put in place. As the Message translation of the Bible translates Romans 12:13, let’s take the opportunity to “be inventive in hospitality”. Practically, we suggest that you consider one of the following:
Messaging or calling a non-Christians friends and asking how you can pray for them
Joining an online community you have affinity with in our city
Mentoring with Inner Hope Youth Ministries
Look into the choice to adopt or provide foster or respite care
